She who wants honey, must brave the bees. - African proverb
Life today seems a bit more complicated than braving the bees for some honey; in all honesty, many of us probably just thought about running to the store to pick some up - easy.
Regardless, this week's proverb is a sweet reminder that the greater the risk, the greater the reward.
What if the risk was self-exposure? What if it involved admitting you were wrong to a person you loathed? What if it required saying you're sorry to your spouse while your ego was on full blast?
Even though we may not see it at the time, the results of these humbling actions WILL lead to great rewards. In the short-term, it may seem as though you have been defeated. You may feel embarrassed, ashamed and downright perturbed.
In the long-term however, you have strengthened your 'get over yourself' muscles and built up a level of personal integrity that can lead to an increase of self-confidence.
Even though the situation can seem rough up front, understand that after braving those bees, the benefits will be so very sweeeeeet!
