However long the night, the dawn will break. - African proverb
What if we keep on making the same mistakes over and over and over again even though we have good intentions to change?
This week's proverb sweetly reminds us to be patient.
Whatever your age, the scripting you experienced as a child, adolescent, teen, young adult, and so on, shaped how you have always been. Some of it is essential to who you are and some of it is ready to be released or you wouldn't be enjoying these Reflections so much... ;)
Change takes time. It requires consistent attention. It feels uncomfortable at first, but with every attempt, it gets a little easier. There are times when we screw it up, and go back to our old ways. And there are times when this new way flows naturally. All of this is good.
You didn't become who you are overnight so don't expect to reach new levels overnight. Have patience with yourself; keep trying. Eventually, the dawn will break and you WILL feel the light.
