Nefertem was born out of a simple yet powerful desire—to take control of what we put on our skin, to pass down the values of hard work and self-reliance to our children, and to bring back the beauty of traditional craftsmanship. In 2012, we set out to create skincare products we could trust, inspired by the time-honored skills of previous generations and fueled by a passion for doing things with integrity and purpose.
Long before tallow skincare became trendy, we were hand-rendering grass-fed tallow in small batches, embracing the kind of craftsmanship that prioritizes quality over convenience. As a humble family business, we’re guided by a simple mission: to do right by people and the planet, leaving the world just a little better, one bar and jar at a time.
Every product we make begins with the finest natural and organic ingredients, carefully chosen for their purity and effectiveness.
Our grass-fed, grass-finished tallow is hand-rendered, triple-filtered, and cured using old-fashioned methods to ensure it meets our highest standards.
We source our suet from 3 Midwest, family-run farms that raise their cattle on grass and sunshine, without the use of antibiotics or steroids.
From there, we craft each batch of soap and moisturizer by hand, curing it to perfection for a firm, long-lasting product that reflects our commitment to quality.
You won’t find parabens, artificial fragrances, SLS, or other harmful chemicals in our products—just honest ingredients sourced from ethical suppliers who value sustainability and integrity as much as we do.

Why We do what we do
We started Nefertem because we were tired of so-called “natural” companies using deceptive labels to hide synthetic chemicals. We wanted something better for our family, and we wanted to show our children what it means to "do for self"—to build something with intention, passion, and pride.
We also wanted to honor the traditional ways of doing things. In a world full of shortcuts, fake ingredients, and soulless factories, we believe in the value of working with our hands, crafting each product with integrity, and leaving the world a little better, one bar and jar at a time.
