Don't mend your neighbor's fence before seeing to your own. - African proverb
We all know how much easier it is to talk about someone else than to reflect on our own shortcomings.
Unfortunately, for some, gossiping becomes a way to boost the ego and help ease the pain of not doing what we know we should be doing.
But before we start talking ill about another, we may want to ask ourselves the following:
This week's reflection asks us to examine our true motive behind gossiping.
Talking about another person is not constructive. It fills a void, but gets nothing accomplished.
When we are focused on our goals or "mending our own fence", we are naturally preoccupied, leaving little room for assessing what another person may or may not be doing.
This week, let's pay particular attention to the underlining reason we might get the urge to gossip and do our best to hold our tongue.
Remember to write this quote down somewhere and allow our amazing products to create a meditative space for this daily reflection.
