He who butters your bread has an effect on your stomach. - African proverb
There are many areas in our life where we have complete and utter control. We control what we choose to eat. We control the type of music we listen to. We control how we worship.
There are also many areas in life where we have zero control. Where the outside world acts directly upon us and we have no authority to change what happens, only our reaction to it.
This week's reflection is a superb lesson that reminds us of our ability to control and manifest the outcomes we desire.
Many times, when circumstances are favorable, we care not who is buttering our bread. It's not until things shift negatively that we stop to examine how we are effected and by whom.
In this space, it is easy to lose control of our emotions and give power to things outside our scope of influence. We can choose to fill our hearts with poisonous dismay or find away to accept what we cannot change.
Learning to control our emotions puts us in the driver seat. We may not be able to control who is on the road but it certainly gives us the ability to control where and how we choose to get where we are going.
Write this reflection down somewhere to help remind you to reflect on what this means to you. Enjoy the essence of our holistic skincare while you do.
